Alarm (Ritual)

a tiny bell and a piece of fine silver wire

You set an alarm against unwanted intrusion. Choose a door, a window, or an area within range that is no larger than a 20-foot cube. Until the spell ends, an alarm alerts you whenever a tiny or larger creature touches or enters the warded area. When you cast the spell, you can designate creatures that won't set off the alarm. You also choose whether the alarm is mental or audible.
A mental alarm alerts you with a ping in your mind if you are within 1 mile of the warded area. This ping awakens you if you are sleeping.
An audible alarm produces the sound of a hand bell for 10 seconds within 60 feet.

**Sigilborne Class Feature**

Starting at 2nd level, Ink Surge allows the Sigilborne to cast a tattooed spell that has already been used once this long rest. Rules for using this feature:

    • Ink Surge allows the Sigilborne to cast a tattooed spell that has already been used once this long rest.
    • The chosen tattoo must still be present on their body.
    • The spell is cast as normal, but the Sigilborne takes 1d4 + the spell’s level in force damage immediately after casting.
    • This damage cannot be reduced or avoided by resistance or immunity.
    • If this damage reduces the Sigilborne to 0 HP, the spell still takes effect—but they fall unconscious (or worse).
    • This feature may be used any number of times, limited only by the Sigilborne’s remaining hit points.

Ink Surge cannot be used to cast a spell the Sigilborne does not currently have tattooed, nor can it be used on Simple Tattoos or Living Tattoos.

**Sigilborne Class Feature**

At 5th level, choose a Reflex Glyph—one tattooed spell that can be cast once per short rest, even if expended. This glyph burns brighter, as if etched deeper into the nerve.

Reflex Glyph Rules:
    • A Reflex Glyph retains the original casting time of the spell.
    • If the spell is a bonus action spell (like Misty Step), it may still be cast as a bonus action when used through Pain Memory.
    • This feature does not allow the spell to be used as a reaction unless that is its original timing (like Shield).
    • The spell must still be tattooed on the body to function as a Reflex Glyph.
